Anders Aldrin Alder Grove 1932 P1306

Anders Aldrin is really THE poet of trees. This image of a white alder grove is especially haunting with its path disappearing into the shadows. As a ground-breaking colorist Aldrin never fails to surprise, even shock a little at first, and then convince utterly. A great painter leaves you seeing the world through new eyes, and Aldrin sure is one hell of a painter.

From the Aldrin estate. Oil on canvas 22 1/4″ x 18″.
