Charles Du Tant Modernist Southwestern Desert Mountain Oil on Canvas P673

New Mexico Modernist Charles du Tant (1908- 1989) worked at one time early in his career for the University Press at Oklahoma University in Norman, OK, and he and his family moved to New Mexico probably in the 40’s.  At first they lived rather primitively, but later built a beautiful home in Santa Fe, NM. At one point he was also the administrative assistant for Governor Meecham, who was governor of AZ.  -notes by Charlene DeYong, half-sister of the artist.
