Frederick William Becker [1888-1974] Oil on Board “Malibu” SOLD P603

A beautiful cliffside view of Malibu in the 1940s. Frame measures 16 x 18, board 11 x 14.

Noted California plein air artist Frederick William Becker (1888-1974) was one of the early group of Taos painters before moving to Los Angeles in the mid-1920s, staying with the Kit Carson family whenever he was resident there. This is a particularly fine oil study from that period.
