Large Tarahumara Olla c. 1880 M792

The work of the Tarahumara Indians of Mexico’s Barancas del Cobra (Copper Canyon), this rough and magnificent behemoth packs a visual wallop. Utterly utilitarian, without a trace of decoration, except for the marks of time and use, it is spectacularly beautiful.

28″ high, 28″ diameter.
