Excitingly, it comes with a very yellowed fragment of the Instructions to the stationmaster for hanging it up, from WH Smith, the great booksellers and stationers of the age of steam. This is the famous tea cup sign, produced by Patent Enamel Co. Ltd, Birmingham, England, one of the earliest and most renowned enamel sign manufacturers. The sign was produced for and used by Southern Railway for station advertising.
