Portrait of Zabo Koszewski by Kenneth G. Kendall SOLD P744

A super fun portrait of Irvin “Zabo” Koszewski. Zabo was a gifted athlete in high school. But it wasn’t until he moved to California and entered the bodybuilding circuit that he became known as Mr. Abs: John Balik, the owner and publisher of Iron Man magazine said he had a 10-pack when everyone else had a 6-pack.

Kenneth G. Kendall  (1921 – 2006)

The actor James Dean walked into Kenneth G. Kendall’s studio in 1955 and requested that the artist sculpt his bust. The actor died before it was finished and Kendall then spent his remaining years preserving the actor’s memory. Kendall died in Los Angeles on September 3, 2006.  Works held:  Griffith Observatory (James Dean bust).
