Richard Evans was born in 1923 in Chicago. He studied at the Otis Art Institute, the California College of Arts & Crafts, and at the University of Wyoming, where he taught beginning in 1953.  Following his retirement in 1991, Richard Evans has continued to work tirelessly in his Laramie studio.  Recently, he produced a series of ten large-scale paintings that are complex constructs of historical figures, actors, writers, musicians, and even cartoon characters—some are famous, some infamous.

These paintings were exhibited in 2004 in the solo show Celebrations/Point-Counterpoint at the University of Wyoming Art Museum in Laramie and at the Curfman Gallery at Colorado State University in Fort Collins, CO. (adapted from askart.com)
