Signed Walter Thomas Calkins 1880-1951 California artist from 1910. dated 1910. Born in Illinois 1880. this charming painting captures the sun on a hayfield late in the afternoon, late in the summer. We wish we knew more about the painter, whose gifts are very evident in his work. Piece has been cleaned and relined. Original Quarter Sawn oak frame.
